Sergey Chemezov is a Non-Executive Director. He joined Aeroflot’s Board of Directors in 2011.
Mr Chemezov has served as CEO of Rostec State Corporation since December 2007.
He began his career at the Irkutsk Research Institute for Rare and Non-Ferrous Metals and the Luch Experimental-Industrial Association in the USSR and East Germany (1983-1988). He went on to serve as Deputy CEO of Sovintersport (1988-1996), Head of the Presidential Foreign Relations Office (1996-1999), CEO of Promexport (1999-2001), First Deputy CEO of Rosoboronexport (2001-2004) and then CEO of Rosoboronexport (2004-2007).
Sergey Chemezov is a bureau member of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party. He is a Chairman of the Russian Engineering Union and the Executive Director of the Russian Mechanical Engineering Union’s employers association. Mr Chemezov holds a Department Chairman position at the Armaments Cooperation and High-Tech Management Department of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He serves as a Chairman of the Board of Rosoboronexport, VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, KAMAZ truck manufacturing company, Uralkali fertilizer company and is a Board member at JSC United Aircraft Corporation, JSC JSCB International Financial Club (IFC Bank) and Alliance Rostec Auto B.V. Mr Chemezov is a Member of Supervisory Committees at a number of Russian corporations, including Rostec, United Rocket and Space Corporation and Roscosmos State Space Corporation.
He holds a PhD in economics, and degrees from the Irkutsk Institute of National Economy and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. He is a professor and member of the Academy of Military Sciences.
Sergey Chemezov was born on 20 August 1952 in Irkutsk region.
