Maxim Sokolov is a Non-executive Director. He joined Aeroflot’s Board of Directors in 2018.
Since 18 December 2019, Maxim Sokolov is a Vice Governor of St. Petersburg.
He began his career as Lecturer at the Economics Faculty of St Petersburg State University (1991-1993). He went on to serve as Commercial agent at JSC Frezi Grant (1992-1993), CEO of CJSC Rossi (1993-1999), CEO of LLC Corporation S (1999-2004), Chairman of the Committee on Investments and Strategic Projects of the Government of St Petersburg (2004-2009), Member of the Government of St Petersburg, Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade (2009), Director of the Department of Industry and Infrastructure of the Government of the Russian Federation (2009-2012), Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation (2012-2018), Chairman of the Executive Committee, CEO and Member of the Board of Directors of LSR Group (2018-2019).
Awards: Order of Honour, Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, 2nd degree, Russian Federation Presidential Certificate of Honour, he was awarded a Letter of Acknowledgement from the President of the Russian Federation and the title of the Honoured Worker of Transport of Russia.
In 1991, graduated from the Economics Faculty of St Petersburg State University with a degree in Political Economy; holds PhD in Economics.
