Aeroflot traffic and capacity statistics for May and 5 month of 2011

July 24, 2011, Moscow. – JSC “Aeroflot - Russian Airlines” summed up traffic and capacity statistics for May and 5 months of 2011.

In May 2011passenger turnover of the company went up by 21.5% against the same period in 2010 and totaled 3,317.5 mln passenger-kilometers. The highest growth (+26.2%) is detected at international flights with the passenger turnover made 2,299.1 mln passenger-kilometers. The domestic traffic turnover reached 1,018.4 mln passenger-kilometers which is 12% more if compared to May 2010.

Total passenger traffic improved by 23.8% coming to 1,131.3 ths passengers. The international traffic rose by 25.4% (+145.0 ths passengers) hitting 714.8 ths passengers. The number of passengers served on domestic lines was 416.5 ths which is 21.0% more (+72.3 ths passengers) against May 2010. The seat load factor in May reached 75.5% that is corresponded with previous year results

Cargo-mail tonnage totaled 12,775.8 tonne in May 2011.

Based on operating results of May 2011 it may be concluded that company’s growth rates of the operating results outrun indicators of Russian civil aviation. Aeroflot passenger turnover and passenger traffic exceeded figures of Russian civil aviation by 1.4 pp. and 13 pp. respectively.

The results for 5 months of 2011 show that Aeroflot passenger turnover was 15,089.0 mln passenger-kilometers, a 21.1% (+2,629.5 mln pkm)growth compared with the results for the same period of 2010. The number of carried passengers increased by 22.3% (+903.6 ths passengers)to become 4,954.8 ths passengers. The seat load factor also increased to 74.9%, a 0.8 percentage points growth compared to the same period of the previous year.

Company’s passenger turnover and passenger traffic for 5 month of 2011 exceeded figures of Russian civil aviation by 9.2 pp. and 11.7 pp. respectively.
