On December 29 OJSC "Aeroflot-Russian Airlines" board of directors approved "Plan of operating, business and financial activity" as well as the company budget for 2006.
Plan for the next year targets at 6.7 percent increase of passenger traffic, 5.4 percent growth of ton-kilometers, 4.2 percent rise of passenger-kilometers. Airline aims at 12.2 percent increase in revenue.
Aeroflot board of directors made a decision to continue development of airline's own network of routes in 2006. Aeroflot will launch regular flights to Krasnoyarsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It is planned to increase frequency of domestic flights: St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk as well as frequency of international flights: Beijing, Shanghai, Simferopol, Baku, Athens, Belgrade, Düsseldorf, Vienna. Also it was decided to consider possibility of flight resumption to Socialist Republic Vietnam - Hanoi.
Operating plan and budget of OJSC Aeroflot for 2006 provides a number of additional activities, aimed at enhancement of Aeroflot performance efficiency in accordance with the Company's strategic development concept. Aeroflot will continue working on restructuring and replenishment of the aircraft fleet as well as on improving quality of passenger service.
OJSC "Aeroflot-Russian Airlines" (RTS: AFTL is the largest Russian airline with 51% state share. It was established in 1923. It controls about 11 per cent of domestic and 39 per cent of international air carriages' market in Russia. Aeroflot's net income amounted to RUR 6330.1m (USD219m).
