Today "AEROFLOT – Russian Airlines", JSC, national air carrier of Russia, and ZAO "Grazhdanskiye Samolyoty Sukhogo" ("Sukhoi Civil Aircraft") announced about signing of a contract on delivery of 30 aircraft of new RPJ (Russian Regional Jet) generation.
According to this contract the aviation company will purchase thirty RRJ95 airplanes in basic configuration. First deliveries are scheduled for November 2008. Total amount of the deal is about $280 million (as of the catalogue prices).
All aircraft are equipped with SaM146 engine designed by PowerJet company (in cooperation with Safran Group joint company and NPO "Saturn"). This company is the supplier of power plants for the entire aircraft family and as well the partner of ZAO "Grazhdanskiye Samolyoty Sukhogo" ("Sukhoi Civil Aircraft") sharing the risks under RPJ Program.
RRJ series airplanes completely meet modern and perspective requirements in terms of reliability, safety and operation economy and are designed to serve as a basis for development and growth of both internal and international route networks of Russian aviation companies.
According the words of Valiriy OKULOV, General Director of "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines", JSC, the major advantage of RRJ project is the existing world market demand. "Aeroflot is the national carrier, the leader setting up the standards of Russian air transportation industry, and we are pleased that the domestic aircraft RRJ95 becomes an integral part of our plans in establishing of modern aircraft fleet".

ZAO "Grazhdanskiye Samolyoty Sukhogo" (ZAO "GSS") ("Sukhoi Civil Aircraft") – affiliated enterprise of "Sukhoi Company", JSC. Founded in 2000 with the purpose of implementation of civil projects of the holding. The starting project is the project on designing of new generation of Russian short range aircraft named RPJ. ZAO "GSS" is in charge of the entire life time cycle of the product: designing and developing, marketing and sales, certification and after sales servicing.
