July 30, 2010, Moscow. – OJSC ‘Aeroflot - Russian Airlines’ has reviewed its performance in June and Six Month of 2010.
The results for June and first six months of the year 2010 are better then the average results of Russian air transportation sector published by Rosaviatsiya (Federal Air Transport Agency). Passenger turnover in June amounted to 29,3%, at the end of six months - 36,8%.
In June, 2010, Aeroflot’s passenger turnover increased by 47,7% and amounted to 3.211,9 billion passenger kilometers in comparison to the same period of 2009. The number of passengers carried by Aeroflot increased by 38.6% and reached 1050.5 thousand. International traffic volume grew by 42.4% (+192.0 thousand), domestic – by 32.9% (+100.4 thousand). Passenger load factor in June was 78.9%, 8.2 percentage points higher than last year. Revenue load amounted to 63.3%, 7.4 percentage points up from the figures of last year.
The results of Aeroflot passenger turnover in June are 18.4 percentage points higher than the average industry results.
At the end of six months 2010 Aeroflot’s passenger turnover amounted to 15.671,4 billion passenger kilometers, which is 38.2% higher compared to the same period of 2009. The number of passengers carried by Aeroflot increased by 32.4% and reached 5.101,7 million passengers. Passenger load factor increased by 75.0%, 11.5 percentage points higher than last year. Revenue load - 63.3%, 11.0 percentage points up from the figures of last year.
The results of Aeroflot passenger turnover at the end of six months are 1.4 percentage points higher than the average industry results.
Aeroflot, a leader of Russia’s air fleet, is a member of SkyTeam, the global airline alliance. Aeroflot’s network of routes comprises 898 locations in 169 countries. In 2009, 11.1 mln used the services offered by the Aeroflot group.
Aeroflot was the winner in the contest between European members of SkyTeam in serving economy-class passengers in short- and medium-range flights and business-class passengers in long-range flights. “Onboard Survey”, the marketing survey conducted by SkyTeam from April to September 2009, confirmed Aeroflot’s leading positions.
Aeroflot was the first Russian carrier to be included in the IOSA operator registry and it regularly confirms the certificate. The airline has successfully passed ISAGO, the audit of land service safety. Aeroflot is a holder of the unified certificate of compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000.
Aeroflot operates one of the youngest air fleets in Europe that consists of 110 aircraft. Aeroflot’s hub is Sheremetyevo international airport in Moscow.
