PJSC “Aeroflot” seeks to ensure sustainable ecological balance in all spheres and aspects of its business. The corporate GHG emissions management system implemented in the company consists of monitoring and accounting of all CO2 emissions throughout its entire network. The system enables the airline to meet international and local requirements of carbon footprint management.
The core business of the company is air transportation, which results in combustion of aviation fuel. The share of emissions from the core business is 99% of all direct GHG emissions of the airline. Therefore, PJSC “Aeroflot” consistently carries out activities to decrease GHG emissions from aircraft.
Management of PJSC “Aeroflot” recognizes climate change as a significant factor influencing the airline business in the long term, proactively studies climate risks, measures to mitigate them and strives to use opportunities to develop low-carbon technologies.
