St Petersburg, 20 February 2018. – Rossiya Airlines will launch daily flights from St. Petersburg to London Gatwick from 25 March (the start of the summer timetable). The new route will be operated using comfortable Airbus A319 aircraft with a dual-class cabin layout comprising eight business-class and 120 economy seats. Flights will depart Pulkovo at 1430 with the return flight departing London at 1710 (all times local).
Rossiya’s network continues to expand. Pulkovo, the airline’s base and home to more than half its fleet, is the key airport in the network. Today, Rossiya operates flights to 49 regular destinations from St Petersburg. By end-2017, Rossiya had increased the volume of passenger traffic through Pulkovo airport by 17%, and had carried over 5.5 million passengers through St. Petersburg. The airline’s performance in 2017 was acknowledged by airport operator Northern Capital Gateway, which named Rossiya the fastest-growing carrier among major Russian airlines.
Rossiya Airlines is part of Aeroflot Group. The combined route network of the two airlines covers 120 destinations in the summer season and around 100 destinations in winter. Rossiya continued to actively renew its fleet in 2017, using Boeing-747s with a capacity of 522 passengers on long-haul flights and Airbus A319s on domestic and international routes.
